Loved this episode! I have a similar story to Deirdre's burnout in teaching. I was a special education teacher for several years and was happy to have the birth of my son as a reason to quit. I went back for my Masters of Curriculum and Instruction, thinking I would go back as a curriculum director, but God had other plans, and now I use my background to serve the kids at my church!
Deirdre's insights on fun and delight were inspiring and now I have my eye on my calendar to schedule in some fun time just for me :)
So glad you were able to listen! And yes to scheduling fun! I went out of my way yesterday for some coffee cake that I love, ignored all the reasons why it wasn't "productive," and had a delightful time. :)
Emily, having this conversation with you was such a treat. Thank you for inviting me onto your show and for being such a gracious, fun host.
I love how you're nudging us all toward delight, your words are a gift!
